Sweet Sixteen Party Tips

Happy winter! Even here in North Hollywood, California it's "Wizard of Oz" windy! Although it has been warm during the daytime. But if you're in the colder side of the world, you may be wishing for a little warmth right now. A couple of thoughts on winter Sweet Sixteen parties or any parties for that matter if you're on the more casual side is to have a "Beach Party" or a "Fiesta Party". Warm up the house, dress in your vacation clothes, have a bbq and beach type snacks or frozen drinks...shine bright lights...have the smell of suntan lotion...it's all fun and makes you feel like you and your guests have been on a mini vacation to the tropics! Sound good?

Think warm,

Sweet Sixteen Party Idea

I just heard a new fun easy sweet sixteen birthday party idea. One girl wants to have an early morning breakfast sweet sixteen party. Perhaps friends come over in their pajamas, a breakfast bar for food with cereals, pancakes, smoothies, etc. They could watch her favorite "kid" cartoons from the past or a great movie from the present. Bright colored decorations to make it fun. What do you think?

Sweet SIxteen Parties

It’s almost time for your daughter or son's 16th birthday parties. Is it going to be a quiet celebration with close friends and family or a big bash with many people? The 16th birthday is a milestone in your son or daughter’s life and there’s many, many ways to make it a memory to remember forever.

What are you going to do to celebrate? Will it be a new car (or new to him or her!) or will it be a big fiesta or is there something else your child has always wanted to do that now is the time? These are the questions you’ll need the answers of to plan that special day.

There are so many new ideas to combine with the traditional sweet sixteen parties to make this one stand out among the rest. It is really up to you to come up with your budget and cross It with your son/daughter’s ideas and dreams. You’ll be surprised at what they will say in a good way. Then you will be on your way. A idea will spark a theme which will bring about plans for decorations and in turn each element of the party will be decided. Before you know it, you’ll have a great foundation of the party in your hands. Write everything down and then you can whittle down what is really needed.

Knowing what they want will relieve the pressure of having to think of it all on your own. Surprises are meant for parties of the future, such as a 40th or 50th…not for a teenager who has big plans and needs you to listen to her/his ideas. Remember when you were a teenager?

That’s the beginning and everything else will be a piece of cake, no pun intended.
Have a wonderful sweet sixteen party!

Party Ideas

Hello and Happy Holidays All,

I hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful with family and friends. I spent the day out in the desert with my sister and her family and friends. It was a great different way to spend the holiday and a really cool party idea too. Each family contributed to the dinner and we gathered in the later afternoon, filled out plates with wonderful treats and sat by the fire to eat.

You can find a celebration anywhere with a great group of people and some delicious food!

Enjoy,

16th Birthday Party Ideas

When I was planning my 40th Birthday party (yes, I planned my own, what better way to have the party of your dreams?), I had a thought. If you host a party, often times you have no time to socialize with your guests for more than a minute or two because of the ongoing party prepping. Here's what I did. I have a friend who is a photographer, it's his hobby. I dressed in the same outfit I had planned on wearing the day of the party. The photographer took pictures of me and we picked one to enlarge into a lifesize photo of me from just above my waist. He mounted the picture on cardboard, hard stock paper and cut out my image. We had two of these. When the time came for the party, I put one of me (cardboard picture) on a dress manikin I had in the garage and one of me on a stick so it could be held. I, of course, was dressed just the same as in the cutout pictures, hair, clothes, everything. Throughout the party, it was really hilarious...I have so many great pictures of my friends and family with me (?) and my two other me's! Some look so good you actually don't know if it's the real me or the copy. I even have a picture with my friends who are identical twins and the real me and a cutout. Very funny picture. Yes, a simple idea like this can make you the host of the party everywhere and great memories through pictures afterwards. The guests had a great time taking pictures, silly and serious, and I was with all of them for more time that usual.
That's just one idea that turned out to be a hit. Have fun with your party ideas, that's what they are for anyway, right?
My name is Xochi and I love to plan parties! I've had a career in the movie business as an assistant director. My job is gathering a large group of people and organizing them no matter where or when or what type of filming. Through this experience and my love for hosting parties, I have gained the knowledge of how to put together a unique party, from creating the idea of the party through the steps of giving the party. It can be quite an adventure but does not need to be stressful! 16th Birthday Party Ideas can be unique and fun.
